Network power system study for the Myanmar Power Grid

Description of project:

The electricity demand in Myanmar has doubled in the last decade. The development of the electric power sector has become one of the top priorities of the Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.
As the Myanmar Power System is being expanded and upgraded, the operation and management of the future power system will be more complicated. Consultancy Services are therefore needed to provide MEPE with the strategies and solutions for the Power system operation and protection as well as contributing to the stabilization of the Myanmar Power Grid. The scope of services are mainly comprising:

  • Power System Analysis of existing grid with NEPLAN Software
  • Elaboration of scenarios for future development of the grid
  • Implementation of new transmission lines and substations up to 500 kV
  • Proposing rehabilitation measures for existing facilities
  • Implementation of SCADA and Energy Management System for Myanmar Power Grid including new National Control Center in Nay Pyi Taw and Regional Dispatch Centers in Yangon and Mandalay
