Atdorf PSP
Design review, optimization, supervision and quality assurance for a 1’398 MW PSP project in Germany

Description of project:
The Atdorf project in Germany is a pumped storage power scheme operating 6 x 233 MW asynchronous pump turbines. The head range is 576 m and 661 m between the new upper and lower artificial reservoirs with capacities of 9 Mio m³ each. The powerhouse cavern is located under the upper reservoir and connects two upstream pressure tunnels with one 8.5 km long downstream pressure tunnel and a surge tank.
ÅF's services:
- Review of the preliminary design
