AFRY helps Scania with increased flexibility, quality control and cost savings

AFRY signs an agreement with new business model with Scania where AFRY will take the overall responsibility driving and delivering complete work packages.

The whole automotive industry is under a major transformation driven by connected, electrified and autonomous vehicles, new business models and actors. The transformation has even been accelerated during the corona pandemic. Scania is spearheading the transformation in many of these areas and is at the same time also changing their way of working with engineering service suppliers, such as AFRY, by introduction of outsourced work packages in a new way.

Scania has signed an agreement with AFRY where AFRY will take the overall responsibility driving and delivering complete work packages. This gives Scania increased flexibility, quality control and cost savings, as consultancy services are utilised in an efficient manner. AFRY is also part of developing the business model together with the client where AFRY brings valuable experience from other successful cooperations.

Work packages from Scania are expected to be of different forms and sizes, from smaller bundles of assignments that can be done independently from the Scania organisation, to other more complex projects that are highly integrated to the client’s organisation.

“This acknowledgement strengthens AFRY as strategic supplier to Scania where we will bring real value to the client by increased flexibility and cost savings that we are very proud of,” says Robert Larsson, EVP and Head of Industrial & Digital Solutions Division.
