Master Thesis Project at ÅF Supply Chain Management - Evaluation and recommendation of future working methods for decision making, for our customer in Skövde

Our costumer in Skövde is building heavy diesel engines and components to a number of different applications. Within the production site they have wide variety of products and components and can predict an increase in near future. Already today they handle a big article flora within the production site which generates a high inflow of material to handle per day.

The costumer wants to evaluate data collecting models, working methods and visualization tools to describe, analyze and create decision making tools linked to the movement of products and articles through operations.

The objectives of the master thesis is to evaluate various data collecting models, working methods and visualization tools for internal logistics. The customers aim is to be able to easily identify areas of improvement and more clearly motivate their improvement proposals.

Students are free to propose an appropriate method for how this work should be done.


  • Recommend a way of working
  • An academic description of recommended future way of working, tools and methods
  • Develop competence within the customers organization by demonstrating the possibilities

Implementation and scope
We are looking for two highly motivated students, at a master's level degree, with a suitable background (in total 30hp per person). Starting date is January 2020 and the work should be finished by summer 2020.
