Our division ÅF Industrial & Digital Solutions is growing with both people skills and exciting projects, and we are again ready to strengthen our team AI, Data Science and Cognitive Computing with a skilled Big Data Engineer.

ÅF has a strong position in the market and at its AI, Data Science and Cognitive Computing team we are committed to continue delivering first class solutions to our customers. We have customers in many different industries, ranging from automotive to Energy and utility. Geographically, this means that you can get to work both in-house at our headquarters in Solna or at the customers site.

More concretely, you will be building cutting edge data pipelines using big data and cloud technologies to support advanced data analytics and machine learning. You will work together with skilled data scientists from the team both at remote and local customers.

Who are you?

You have a good understanding of the fundamental concepts in big data and distributed systems. You excel at communicating these concepts to customers and team members. And you are particularly fast at learning new skills. You have at least two years of experience in big data or cloud with a degree in IT, Computer Science or equivalent fields. As a consultant you should master both working independently and as a team member. We take your personal qualities into great consideration.

Some of your core competences are in the following areas: 

  • Knowledge on cloud platforms like Azure, AWS or GCP
  • Fundamental understanding of distributed systems
  • Experience with Docker and/or VM based software deployment
  • Big data processing engines such as Spark or Flink
  • Working with semi-structured and unstructured data such as .json or parquet
  • Experience in integration and orchestration of scalable data pipelines (e.g. NIFI, ADF, Airflow)
  • Experienced in building, maintaining and scaling Data Infrastructures
  • Good programming skills across a number of languages, for instance Java, C#, Python
  • Good verbal and written communication skills are important in English. Swedish is a plus.

Supporting competences that can be highly appreciated include:

  • Experience with Hive, SparkSQL etc.
  • T-SQL, Data Modelling, ETL pipelines and general database concepts
  • Business intelligence (BI) tools such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Experienced in performing Data Quality Survey

Our recruitment process consists of a minimum of two interviews (where at least one is F2F) followed by a technical test and two references. For this position we have an ongoing selection process and therefor the position can be filled before last day of the application period.
