Kissakoski Small Hydropower Plant
New 1.6 MW hydropower plant in Kissakoski, Finland.

Description of project:
The original Kissakoski small hydropower plant consisted of two separate power houses build in 1930s and 1940s. These plants were replaced with a completely new power plant with a single Kaplan-turbine with 5 m head, installed capacity of 1.6 MW and annual production of 9 GWh. The old technical fish pass was also replaced with a natural type bottom ramp fish pass. The new power house was designed in a style which preserved the historically valuable surroundings.
