Comprehensive engineering services for an extensive hydro power plant modernization in Switzerland

Description of project:
The Küblis power plant was implemented in 1921-29 to supply power to the regional railways. The powerhouse was subjected to an extensive modernization, including civil works on the powerhouse structure and replacement of the electro-mechanical equipment. The hydropower plant has a new installed power of 2 x 22.8 MW. The following new equipment has been installed: 2 horizontal twin Pelton turbines with generators; 4 main inlet valves; 2 transformers; medium voltage switchgear; new power supply for the plant including standby set; control equipment.

Evaluation of the structural conditions of the powerhouse building; optimization study of number and size of generating units; tender design, tender preparation and evaluation; construction design of main generating equipment; construction supervision; testing and commissioning.
