Solar energy investigation - Västfastigheter

Solar energy investigation and development of total potential for solar energy production for the nine largest hospitals in the Västra Götaland region of Sweden.

ÅF has carried out a solar power investigation and simulated future total potential for solar power production for the nine largest hospitals in Sweden’s region Västra Götaland. After site visits at all hospitals, suitable roofs, façades, parking garages, parking lots and green areas were selected for simulations.

The surfaces were then rated according to the complexity, potential output and profitability of installing solar power on them.

We have also developed suggestions on how façades can be given a modern look with the help of solar modules, and visualized it using photomontage, as illustrated.

Total simulated solar cell surface: 106 000 m2
Number of solar cell modules: 64 000
Total effect: 17,6 MWp
Potential annual energy production: 15,7 GWh
