Preliminary design for hospital parking lot

In this project, ÅF assumed end-to-end responsibility for the preliminary design of a solar power installation on weather protection panels over a parking lot at the Norra Älvsborgs Länssjukhus hospital.

ÅF architects designed a rack for solar cells which forms an aesthetically pleasing weather protection over a parking lot at the hospital's main entrance. The structural engineering department dimensioned the steel structure and several options were evaluated during the process.

Electricity generating weather protection

The solar cell plant is designed for optimal energy production, and to be practical - in terms of drainage, for instance. Electrical engineers designed a power substation and prepared the system for electric car charging.

Landscape architects designed the surrounding plot, including vegetation around the solar modules.

In addition to designing the photovoltaic system, Project leader Lina Wideberg also coordinated the various competencies through all project phases, ensuring coherence between calculations, photo montages and presentations.

Effect: 1,1 MWP
Estimated energy production: 980 MWH
