Many pipelines in Sweden are too old
In Sweden there are an estimated 159,000 km of municipal water, waste water and surface water pipelines in Sweden (excluding services) that need to be maintained and renewed. Not everything can be done at the same time, it is necessary to plan well for the future.
One of the most important technical water and waste water issues is how and at what rate the renewal of the collecting systems should take place. It is very important to have a strategy for how this renewal should proceed to ensure “the right action in the right place at the right time”. Other important issues to deal with are how the collecting systems are affected by, for example, climate change in the form of increased precipitation levels and faster run-off.
What do we do in the field of Distribution Systems?
We have a well-balanced group working on issues relating to collecting systems. Between us we have many years’ experience of both practical and theoretical work on water and waste water collecting systems. We work at all stages, from early strategic investigations to planning, inspection and operational support.
