ÅF enables Norwegian municipalities to light the road ahead
The Norwegian Public Roads Administration decided to make an in depth analysis and evaluation of lighting technologies available on the professional road lighting market.
The reason behind the analysis is that Norway has to save energy and increase safety on their roads. At the same time the cost for road lights in Norway is more than NOK 1 billion in just electricity per year. ÅF Lighting was given the mission to make a study on how the Norwegian roads can be efficiently, environmentally and safely lit in the future. The result shows that there is a potential for huge savings in choosing the right luminaire.
The Norwegian Public Roads Administration gave ÅF the job to set up a research project consisting of a market survey, a research survey and a benchmark analysis of a large group of available LED-based luminaires offered on the Nordic market today.
