Macedonia–Bulgaria Power Transmission Project
Consultancy services for the construction of a 400kV overhead transmission line in Macedonia

Description of project:
ÅF has provided consulting services for construction of a 400 kV overhead transmission line from Shtip (Macedonia) to the Macedonian-Bulgarian border, 73 km long, and from the border to Chervena Mogila (Bulgaria), 72 km long, and construction of the 400/110 kV substation Shtip with and the extension of the 400/110 kV substation at Dubrovo. The project was financed under a loan from Europaen Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
ÅF's services:
Our services comprised project management, the whole tendering procedure, contract negotiations, construction supervision and commissioning, coordination with other works, safety measures and claim management.
Including:
- Review of technical requirements of the Tender Documents
- Bid evaluation, contract negotiations
- Development of Project Management Plan
- Preparation of Project Monitoring Program and project procedures
- Development and monitoring of the Financial plan and disbursement schedules
- Preparation of all reports and documents required under the Loan Agreement, Power Delivery Agreement (PDA) and Construction Coordination Agreement (CCA)
- Review and evaluation of the results of site investigations and surveys
- Review and evaluation of detailed design documents and calculations
- Clarification of technical issues with regard to specifications
- Approval of Contractor’s documents
- Pre-shipment inspection and factory tests
- Supervising the implementation of all construction and erection activities
- Planning of system outages during rehabilitation work
- Monitoring construction performance and commissioning tests
- Budget and cost control, project accounting
- Maintenance procedure
- On-the-job training of owner’s personnel

- Assistance in transfer of ownership of the assets to NEK for the Bulgarian part of the transmission line
