Sustainable living in southern Sweden

Coordinating sustainable living and building standards in Malmö

West Harbour is the Swedish southern port city of Malmö's most notable symbol for sustainable city development.

The Fullriggaren district has flats, offices, child care and a multistorey car park. ÅF played an important role in coordinating sustainability matters as well as providing advice on how to meet sustainability objectives.

The area has Sweden's largest conglomeration of passive and low-energy buildings. Fullriggaren also features solar water heating, solar panels and small wind turbines for the generation of electricity, and walls and roofs covered in vegetation.
