Process Optimisation

Developing clear and efficient processes

Automation is critical in manufacturing and process industries. ÅF assists with process optimisation.

ÅF develops tools and methodolgies to optimise your processes. We have expertise and many years of experience helping all kind of industries with automation and process optimisation. We develop control strategies and tune them to create effient processes. The result is reduced costs and increased revenue.

To create optimised processes we train your operators and simulate different scenarios giving them skills to handle any new situation that occurs and to run the processes optimally at different operating points. We also simulate models to speed up new control projects and put them into operation faster.

Process control

We analyze and find weaknesses in existing control systems. When reviewing complex systems, we often find that classical methods are not always sufficient. In such cases we also design modern multivariable regulators (Adaptive, MPC, robust control etc).

We develop models of chemical and energy engineering processes. They can either be built on basic physical principles or be developed using black/grey box identification. The model can then be used in a simulator, in a model-based controller or for emulation to verify the control system before implementation.

Simulation and Emulation

Dynamic simulation of the process and emulation of the control system provides a fast, simple, safe and inexpensive alternative to tests in the real plant. Examples are testing of new control strategies, training of operators and minimize off-spec produce while changing product quality.
