The Engineering Division is a European leader in industrial automation, industrial IT and mechanical engineering, with the Nordic countries, Estonia, Germany, Spain as its domestic markets. We are active across a broad spectrum in all branches of industrial engineering and account for approximately 20 percent of ÅF Group sales.
One important factor behind our succes is our firm focus on creating profitability for our clients. Our breadth of experience enables us to meet client needs quickly and effectively. Clients come from virtually all sectors of industry, but we are especially strong in the nuclear power, energy, pharmaceutical, processing and forest industries. In pulp and paper Engineering is one of the world's top ten technical consulting companies. Typical pulp and paper assignments involve project engineering for new mills and production lines or modernising existing facilities.
Engineering has around 1,350 employees in some 50 offices: 90 percent work in Sweden, with the others evenely divided between Norway, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Spain, Estonia and the Czech Republic. A growing proportion of earnings (currently around 20 percent) derive from assignments outside Sweden.
We offer consulting services in many areas of technology - industrial IT, automation, electrical and mechanical engineering and pipe design. Typical projects include modernising and rationalising production processes or plant, expanding capacity, or installing a new production line. There is often considerable potential for improvement in these processes, which affords good opportunities for clients to save money and increase profits.
