ÅF-Rateko sells its machining operations

ÅF-Rateko sells its machining operations to EWS Teknik AB

EWS Teknik AB will acquire ÅF-Rateko's machining operations as of 1 January 1999. With this transfer of ownership, all of ÅF-Rateko's operations related to cutting, machining and manufacture, including their product the RAKO clamp, will be taken over by EWS Teknik AB.

For ÅF-Rateko, this sale is a step in focusing more closely on the core business - that is, consulting in the field of production equipment and designing and building special customer-adapted machines for Swedish industry based on ÅF-Rateko's special competence in production technology, electrical and mechanical engineering, and computer-based control systems.

With this acquisition, EWS Teknik AB will strengthen and further develop its manufacturing capacity. With almost 20 employees, it will be the largest company in the Stockholm region for the manufacture of prototypes, as well as components for machines and tools. There are also long-range plans to further develop and produce the RAKO clamp, which today is marketed throughout Europe and North America.

This arrangement brings the two partners into closer co-operation. ÅF-Rateko intends to employ EWS Teknik as its main supplier for production.
