ÅF-TÜV Nord AB (in which ÅF-Kontroll has a 50% share) has signed a framework agreement with Ringhals AB relating to technical inspections services. The contract will run for five years, with an option for a two-year extension at the end of the period.

The estimated value of the order for the ÅF Group is SEK 100-150 million.

 

Ringhals has planed approximately SEK 13 billion for investments up until 2012. Most of these planed investments will be in modernisation projects, measures designed to increase safety and security, and increased output at all the company's plants.

The framework agreement with ÅF-TÜV Nord AB includes durability analyses,  investigation of any damage, and inspection of the plants both for condition monitoring and when following up repairs and modifications.

ÅF-TÜV Nord AB is jointly owned by ÅF (ÅF-Kontroll AB) and the German company TÜV NORD. The company is accredited as a 'notified body' in accordance with the regulations adopted by the Swedish Nuclear Power Inspectorate (SKI) for the testing and inspection of mechanical equipment (pumps, valves, pipework, reactor tanks, other pressure vessels, etc.).

 

Since ÅF-TÜV Nord was first formed in 2002, the Ringhals Group has called upon its services for its plants in Barsebäck and Ringhals. ÅF-TÜV Nord also works with the certification of management systems, including energy management systems, quality management systems (ISO 9001), environmental management systems, and emissions rights (CO2).

 

Ringhals CEO Jan Edberg has made it known that cooperation with ÅF-TÜV Nord has worked well and he believes that this relationship continues throughout the duration of the investment period.
