The ÅF Group has signed an agreement relating to application development and system integration for a new, top-level production system for Akzo Nobel Decorative Coating in Malmö, in the south of Sweden.
The new system will manage an integrated production control system and aspects of the administration of the Malmö plant, which has 700 employees and last year produced almost 37 million litres of paint and putty.
The production system, scheduled to replace the existing Akzo Nobel system in January 2004, is better suited to today's demands, both within the Akzo Group and externally.
"This is an important order for us," says Jan-Åke Fransson, Regional Manager for the ÅF Group's Industry & Systems division. "It proves that choosing to focus on product development and production development in the Lund-Malmö region was the right decision to make."
