At the end of 2006 TeliaSonera launched its new Skanova joint-financed base-station sharing product. This gives other operators space in Telia's base stations and is packaged with a financing model for the investment required to develop a base station. ÅF has broad experience of most operator's networks and was commissioned to perform an independent assessment of 170 base stations across Sweden to shed light on the financial aspects of each development work. The large number of base stations and geographical scope of the project are particularly demanding in terms of planning and management.
