Stora Enso is investing EUR 54.8 million in the rebuild of the fine paper machine, PM 3, at Varkaus Mill in Finland in order to improve the efficiency at the mill and the profitability in the office paper business area. This investment will increase Varkaus Mill's annual production capacity of uncoated fine paper from the present 220 000 tonnes up to 315 000 tonnes per year.
ÅF will provide engineering services for stock preparation, PM rebuild and finishing department. The scope of services includes all disciplines except main equipment and civil engineering.
The WEPPI Project gives a workload of approximately 144 man months and will be carried out by ÅF in Kouvola.
