The objective of allowing managers to manage effectively can be broken down into technical requirements such as functional management support systems, and the physical requirements of the surrounding environment, where people and technology are to be placed/to work.
The task of the systems integrator is to apply an optimum technical solution to construct systems of apparatus, systems of systems and above all interacting systems. Systems integration is not a technical area, being better described as an ability - an ability to exploit the available technology to its full potential within physical parameters such as maximum weight, restricted space, temperature, air humidity, vibrations, electrical environment, user requirements, etc. Technical functions and individual systems are usually predefined. The job of the systems integrator is to solve the problem of how the functions/systems will interact in a range of environments.
In our view, successful systems integration can be summed up as a technical solution which optimises the interaction between person and machine, between person and person, and between machine and machine.
