ÅF-Kontroll is accredited by the Swedish Board for Accreditation and Conformity Assessment (SWEDAC) for the inspection of lifts/elevators, lifting equipment and pressure vessels and for non-destructive testing, etc.

Since 1 July 1997 all newly installed lifts in Europe must be CE marked, and a notified body must be involved in the verification process. ÅF-Kontroll fulfils the criteria for a notified body in accordance with the Lift Directive 95/16/EG and can offer the full range of services prescribed in the Lift Directive:
- EC type examination
- Unit verification
- Final inspection
- Design review
- Quality assurance of lift manufacture
- Product quality assurance for lifts
- Full quality assurance for lifts
