ÅF Group plans to sell ÅF-SIFU
The ÅF Group has reached a decision to sell its subsidiary, the educational company, ÅF-SIFU AB. The ÅF Group currently has a 75 percent stake in the company, with the remainder of the shares being held by the Swedish Society of Engineers.
The Swedish Society of Engineers has been informed of the situation and the first steps in the process of selling the company have already been taken.
The decision is based on the ÅF Group's current strategy of streamlining its business to concentrate on core activities in prioritised industries. Consequently, it is felt that ÅF-SIFU's opportunities for further development will be more favourable with a new owner.
ÅF-SIFU has just over 50 employees and reported sales of around SEK 75 million in 2002. The company's clients come both from the public sector and from private industry. ÅF-SIFU currently trains around 12,000 people a year in some 400 different subjects, both theoretical and vocational.
Staff at ÅF-SIFU have been informed of the decision.
