ÅF Group perfects development of the "artificial sniffer dog"
During the spring ÅF-Industriteknik has been carrying out a feasibility study for a land-mine detection system based on the biosensor technology developed by Biosensor Applications of Sweden. After the Swedish Rescue Services Agency ordered a prototype, Biosensor Applications has given ÅF-Industriteknik the go-ahead to perfect the development of the finished product. One of the places where the new technology will be put through its paces is a test site in Kosovo. The development work is being carried out at a very brisk pace by a team of between 5 and 7 development consultants from the ÅF Group. The commission includes not only design and construction, but also electronics, control technology and signal processing. Delivery will take place in mid-August 2000.
Biosensor Applications' cooperation with ÅF-Industriteknik also extends to the further development of the "artificial dog's nose" system for use in other applications.
The development work is part of an enduring, long-term collaboration between Biosensor Applications and ÅF-Industriteknik.
