Norwegian ÅF company designs Telenor´s office of tomorrow

Nielsen og Borge AS, partly owned by the ÅF-Group, has, in collaboration with the engineering firm of Alfacon, been awarded a contract to design the electrical installations for Telenor's new head office in Oslo. The contract is worth approx. NOK 23 million and represents approx. 45,000 consultant hours.

"The client, Telenor, anticipates a modern building with broad general-purpose application and great flexibility," says Per Sörhaug, Nielsen og Borge's managing director. "It will therefore be a true challenge to design the office of tomorrow."

The project includes about 136,000 sq. m of office space and indoor parking for 1,300 cars. The office will be built on the site of Fornebu Airport now that Oslo's airport has moved to the new site at Gardermoen.

The building will be completed by the middle of 2002. The contract covers the power and telecoms installations, as well as lifts and emergency power unit. Outdoor electrical installations throughout the whole area are also included.
