Road Safety Assessment

Road safety assessement for the World Bank in Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh, India.

The World Bank has engaged ÅF to carry out the study "Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh Road Sector Project II", that has been formulated for implementation of Road Upgradation, Performance Based Road Maintenance, Road Safety and Institutional Capacity Enhancement through World Bank funding.

Description of project:

Detailed Project Report Preparation for more than 4000 km of Upgradation of SH / MDR was being carried out.

iRAP (International Road Assessment Programme) is a scientific tool used globally to identify the safety concerns of the existing roads and suggest solutions. World Bank during the recent review of the project suggested to carry out iRAP safety inspection along the roads for which DPR is under preparation and to incorporate the tangible solutions.
