We are increasingly exposed to community noise in our neighbourhood and at work. Silence has become rare. Approximately 80 million inhabitants in European Community are exposed to unacceptable noise levels. There are 170 million people that in some way are disturbed of noise exposure. In large cities throughout the world the population is increasingly exposed to community noise and the health effects of these exposures are considered to be an important public health problem.
ÅF is assisting authorities, consultants, entrepreneurs in their work by calculate and present different sound environments in our society. The presentations can be used in environmental impact investigations, municipal comprehensive plans and in detailed planning in municipals. Main sources of community noise include road, rail and air traffic, industries, construction and public work, shooting ranges, motor sports, wind power plants, or a combination of these sources, We have got constructive measures to reduce noise levels with our long experience as experts within the field. Sometimes we are not looking for noisy environments but after silent areas, free from community noise, fit for outdoor life and recreation.
