Modern building constructions are becoming more and more complex in terms of building acoustic design. The trend towards increasingly industrialized construction, and also more light weight structural systems puts new demands on future building acousticians. The increasing demand for land plots in central locations involve high requirements regarding the planning of housing and office buildings to optimize the sound exposure (i.e. traffic noise) for each building, so that those who work and live in the building knows that the sound environment is not adversely affecting their activity.
ÅF is working in the very early planning process and work with a particular model of sound quality scores in order to allow for good construction in exposed areas. We are also working with several development projects that will strengthen the Swedish building construction industry. For the future, a good acoustic environment in residential buildings and workplaces will become a success factor in the development of new districts.
