AF-Consult Switzerland, active in Vietnam for over 20 years, continues its excellent cooperation with the state owned utility EVN. On May 15th, 2012 EVN Can Tho and ÅF signed the contract for owner’s engineering services for unit IV of the O Mon plant, a combined cycle power plant with a total electrical power output of 750 MW.
The contract value totals approx. € 5.6m, with € 1.1m of that being subcontracted to EVN’s subsidiary PECC3. The contract will be financed by KfW which has already given its approval. EVN Can Tho’s investment in the plant may reach about US$ 700 million, essentially financed by ADB and KfW.
In this assignment, ÅF will render services for tendering and negotiating EPC turnkey and long term service contracts. Implementation supervision and warranty services up to final acceptance certificate are also included. Works are scheduled to commence in August 2012 with an overall duration of 72 months.
