ÅF is the leader in power generation consulting in Finland.
We have participated in the planning or implementation of more than half of all power plants in operation in Finland. We currently have major ongoing projects in all parts of the country, including Jyväskylä, Kuopio, Olkiluoto, Forssa, Loviisa, Porvoo and Oulu.
Our clients are typically power plant owners, investors or public entities. In Finland, our core offering consists of Owner's Engineer services, EPCM services (Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management), and design services including civil, process, mechanical, automation and electrification engineering. We also offer a wide range of technical and financial special consultancy services for energy project developers, energy market consultancy for regulators and companies in power markets, and environmental consulting services for a wide range of industries. The main energy sources we work with are nuclear, fossil fuels, biofuels and other renewables. We are a global leader in waste-to-energy facilities.
Approximately half of the work done by the Finnish organisation serves projects outside Finland. A large part of our staff works abroad on assignments ranging from a few weeks to several years. We also work in close cooperation with our ÅF colleagues in other countries and regions such as the Baltics, Russia, Switzerland, Sweden, Spain, India and the Far East.
ÅF has two offices in Finland, Espoo with 190 employees and Tampere with 20 employees.
As specialists in sustainability, we are proud to pursue demanding environmental impact reduction targets for ourselves, including halving our carbon footprint per employee by 2015. In support of reaching this goal, our new office building will have the highest energy efficiency rating, class A. It will be the first of its kind in Finland.
Our people typically have an academic education in technologies which cover a wide range of specialties that are required to satisfy the complex demands of our clients. This allows us, in turn, to offer challenging tasks to professionals. With the best jobs in the industry and a steady growth, ÅF is continuously on the lookout for new talent as well.
