Description of project
Chuzachen hydroelectric power plant (110 MW) is located in the east district of Sikkim on the Rangpo and Rongli rivers. It is a run-of-river plant with storage capacity to supply peak load during the low flow season. The high head scheme consist of two interconnected reservoirs, a headrace tunnel system, an 800 m long surface penstock, and a powerhouse, housing two Francis turbines (2 x 55 MW).
