ÅF won consulting services of Lower Kopili hydropower project in India
ÅF has signed a multi-million US Dollar contract with Assam Power Generation Corporation Limited, India providing consulting services in project management and construction supervision for Lower Kopili hydropower project in India. The project is financed by Asian Development Bank with a loan. The project duration is about 6 years.
This project encompasses two phases. Phase A covers the procurement services required by the EPC contractors. Phase B is the project implementation phase including detail design review, construction and erection supervision, contract management, commissioning and operation.
The Lower Kopili HPP has a capacity of 120 MW and has a 70 m high concrete gravity dam, a main power intake with gates and another gated intake for auxiliary power house, a 3.6 km long head race tunnel with a diameter of 6.6 m, a surge shaft, a 700 m long pressure shaft followed by penstocks and a surface power house with two Francis turbines with 55 MW each and an auxiliary power house of 10 MW.
