ÅF wins prestigious Swiss Arc-Award 2017
ÅF Hydro Power has won the prestigious industry Arc-Award 2017 – Silver in the category BIM-Innovation for its innovative solutions of applying BIM in design and construction of the 900 MW pumped storage hydropower plant Nant de Drance in Switzerland.
The award is given to the BIM solution involving diverse, innovative and versatile processes, structures and forms of cooperation in complex projects. Through BIM, the value chain in the design, construction and operation of Nant de Drance has experienced a profound development and change.
The Arc Award is an integral Swiss Architecture Prize with various categories. It recognises past and present achievements in the construction industry in Switzerland, including innovations in technology and collaboration.
BIM creates added value by allowing people, processes and tools to interact systematically throughout the entire building life cycle. It allows that changes in a plan carry through to all of the related items in other plans and budgets, and enables the project team to avoid rework and engage in real time estimating, so as ensures efficient planning, execution and maintenance processes.
