Mahdi Bari

My name is Mahdi Bari and I started my official career at ÅF in April 2015, right after I finished my university studies. My previous work experience was in the hydraulic pump and motor sector where I worked as a co-op intern throughout my studies. I have always liked high paced and challenging assignments so I did not hesitate when an opportunity to join the automotive industry appeared.

What made you choose the automotive industry?

Cars have always fascinated me, looking at them from different technological perspectives sounded like a dream.

What’s your best advice for students and new graduates keen to work for ÅF?

Work hard while you are still in school, you will need the tools you’re provided with to face the different challenges ÅF has to offer. Believe me, you will not be disappointed.

What is the best thing about your job?

The best thing about my job is the variety of challenges. My work never feels stale and new opportunities for personal development are always within reach.

What do you think makes a good consultant?

A good consultant is curious and has a willingness to adapt to new situations. You never know where your next assignment will be or what people you’ll be working with.

If you have worked with global customers and international projects during your time at ÅF, what were the biggest challenges and what did you learn from that?

The biggest challenge was to quickly adapt into the workflow of the specific company. Not all companies work at the same pace or use the same strategy to reach success. The biggest lesson was to listen and learn from more experienced peers and use that knowledge to adapt and succeed.
