ÅF carries out assignments mainly in the Nordic region, but also in 90 other countries across the globe. ÅF works systematically to ensure that assignments satisfy the requirements stipulated in the UN Global Compact guidelines. To prevent any potential risks of breaching those guidelines, a systematic risk assessment is conducted in conjunction with the tendering process and agreement.
A risk assessment is carried out at the tendering stage of assignments, based on sustainability criteria. The assessment includes a checklist of questions relating to the principles of the UN Global Compact. The purpose is to identify high-risk assignments at an early stage and, if necessary, carry out a more in-depth analysis. In the event of a more in-depth risk analysis, ÅF compiles data and information on the project from various sources, including government agencies, media, working documents and websites. The analysis aims to identifying possible risks and offer recommendations on how to prevent the risk of violating the principles of global compact.
