EVEN ODDS – reaching full potential

ÅF wants to attract more women to its ranks. By improving equality in the workplace ÅF becomes stronger, more productive and more successful.

The “EVEN ODDS” initiative aims to improve the gender balance in the company and the industry as a whole, while promoting diversity, accountability, performance and competence at all levels. This will allow us to be more adaptable to client needs and to improve delivery, collaboration and innovation. The goal is to have 30 percent women at all levels by 2020.

EVEN ODDS will safeguard access to competence and reach better results in order to live up to the ideal of being a diverse company. 

EVEN ODDS has four main purposes:

• to improve ÅF’s ability to maximise its potential

• to increase female representation at all levels within ÅF

• to make technology more attractive to young women

• to make ÅF more attractive as an employer

ÅF Ladies' Month – an EVEN ODDS activity

Ladies' Month is an active measure to raise the issue of gender equality and highlight that ÅF is prepared to take bold and innovative initiatives to move forward on this important issue. The goal of Ladies' Month is to show that we are an attractive workplace for both men and women and to attract more people to join ÅF.

ÅF’s goal is to double sales from 1 billion in 2015 to 2 billion in 2020. This means that we need to increase the workforce from today's approximately 8, 500 employees. If we are to cope with skill supply more women must join the profession.

Therefore, we put great effort into developing our recruitment processes, actively working for justice and gender-neutral wages, implement transparent career models and train our managers in inclusive leadership.

During Ladies' Month we only write new employment contracts with women. The campaign has been successful and we have increased the number of women applying for jobs at ÅF by 46 percent in 2014 and another 24 percent in 2015.

ÅF is one of many companies that have both the need and the responsibility for driving change. For that reason, we will repeat Ladies' Month for the third consecutive year in 2016
