Replacement of run-of-river canal scheme HPP and river renaturing, Switzerland
Description of projec:
The plant, built in 1895 on a side canal of the Aare River, has been replaced by a new 23 MW run-of-river power plant. The new concept allows energy production to be almost tripled. Extensive ecological measures improve the natural environment in the immediate vicinity of the plant.
