Albyberg nature park

ÅF Landscape was selected to design and engineer the detailed plans for this nature park. Based on the existing conditions they formulated the vision “Recreate the Valley”, involving the use of excavated soil stockpiles to restore the natural elevations and enhance the stream’s expression and movement through the park. Along the stream, a number of pools will be created, with a larger pond in the northeastern corner for slowing and purifying the water using vegetation.

Sustainability profile provides businesses with a nature park

The Municipality of Haninge is planning a new business park in the southeastern section of the municipality. The area is called Albyberg and has a distinct focus on sustainable development.

The first phase of development, Phase 1, covers an area of approx. 60 hectares, 31 of which have been earmarked for offices/businesses. The remainder will be a nature park.

The site was previously a forested area and area dedicated to the nature park was a marshy valley. In the future, the nature park will serve recreational purposes but above all take care of storm water runoff from the entire area.

The flow of water in and out of the area will be the same both before and after development. In line with the sustainability focus, there is also an ambition to manage excavated soil within the area.

Walking, bicycle and riding trail

The natural expression of the landscape has been retained and a trail for walking, bicycling and riding will provide access to the park. Along the path there will be seating and information boards about the park and its many biological values.
