Safety and maintenance at Ringhals
Collaboration with clients and colleagues ensures the maintenance of Swedish nuclear power plant.
Each year the reactors at Ringhals nuclear power plant in Sweden are shutdown for scheduled maintenance and safety renovations, including the replacement of uranium fuel.
These renovations are done to prepare the plant for yet another safe and stable operating season.
During the scheduled shutdown in 2012, ÅF worked closely with Alstom, a leader in the supply of equipment and services for power generation, had workers on site around the clock. Thanks to ÅF's coordinators in Health, Safety and Environment, the work was executed and completed without incident.
The planned time for the maintenance project was 28 days, but due to good planning and execution, that time was reduced to 21 days.
