Södra Cell Mörrum

Evaluation och alternatives to reduce phosphorus discharge.

Södra Cell is one of the world's largest market pulp supplier. Much of the pulp produced at Södra Cell in Mörrum is exported to paper mills in Europe where our customers turn it into paper which may become magazines, books, tea bags or serviettes.

Södra Cell in Mörrum did seek methods to fulfil the new phosphorus permit limit and ÅF was assigned to evaluate alternative methods. The work was carried out by modelling the process and applying alternative methods including cost. The report included a description of methods, determination of key performance and recommended actions.

ÅF did project management as well as leading and execution of the consulting and evaluation work. The work included detailed analysis of plant performance and evaluation of corrective measures.  It also involved general consultancy in different aspects of operation of the processes.
