Logistics Engineering brings ILS into action

It is the engineering activities and analyses that produce data and results for evaluating and improving system availability.

Life Cycle Management (LCM)

At ÅF, we have the ability to manage the entire lifecycle of a system. By being your partner from concept design, specification, production, modification and maintenance to disposal. The key to success in Life Cycle Management is to be involved in all parts of the system and to collect and structure all data of the system.


Reliability Maintainability & Testability (RM&T)

The impact of ILS is measured in metrics obtained by analyzing the system’s reliability, maintainability and Testability. These analyses are paramount for successfully identifying and evaluating design alternatives and problem areas in the technical system or in its support solution. ÅF offers a range of services in this area including Reliability Predictions and Maintainability Predictions.


Logistic Support Analysis

At ÅF we can perform Logistic Support Analysis (LSA) for all kind of systems or products. By analyzing and describing the most cost-efficient way to handle the system regarding, documentation, maintenance, support, training, spare parts, reliability, availability, manpower and human factors, etc. The LSA is also used to highlight some ILS-elements and show the trade-off between different choices and life cycle costs.

 

Life Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA)

In order to help the costumer to analyze the total cost of a system we can provide LCC- Analysis. By giving our customers a greater transparency to the costs during the life cycle of a system, we help our customers to make better and more balanced decisions.

 

Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA)

FMECA is a method that works from a bottom up approach, for identifying potential failure modes, their effects and to assess risks and criticality. The analysis can be used early in the design phase for creating inputs for design improvements. ÅF engineers can work in close cooperation with all disciplines involved in order to give the best input and recommendations.

 

Supply Support

Supply Support covers all procedures for the support of the system and how to supply equipment to the system (including tools, spare parts and LRU). At ÅF we do all Supply Support requirements for the customer, support agreements, location of spare parts and LRU, packaging, storage, transportation, replenish and disposal of equipment.

 

Codification & Data Record

ÅF have great experience of Codification & Data Record for all maintenance significant items and related information, e.g. in an LSAR. We help to identify the needs of our customer and tailor our work accordingly. We can build and maintain databases that ranges from custom made to those that are specified by MIL-STD-1388.

 

Failure Reporting and Corrective Actions System (FRACAS)

FRACAS is a method for reporting, classifying and analyzing failures and keep track of corrective actions. It is a process for analyzing field data and operational performance and therefore give better input for system improvements. ÅF work with all parts of the FRACAS process, as well as creating and implementing the process. For an existing FRACAS, ÅF can also include analyzing results and make recommendation for improvements.
