Sweden's Most Beautiful Office 2017
ÅF designed the lighting for SEB’s new monumental office building in Stockholm, this year’s winner!
The Swedish banking company SEB recently moved into their newly built premises in Solna, Sweden - a bright and modern office space with a sustainable approach to energy consumption. ÅF Lighting were appointed the task of developing a well-suited lighting design for the massive 14 storeys office space, which is spread over three interconnected buildings housing 4500 employees.
Fanny Englund, lighting designer at ÅF Lighting, was in charge of the lighting design project and explains the process:
"The size of the project turned out to be a challenge. With such a huge project, we wanted to use cost-effective solutions with a consistent quality without it becoming too monotonous. We sought to find a rhythm and get away from the ordinary. For instance the 600 meeting rooms each have a unique style, often due to small yet effective changes. The architects really challenged us to bring a diversity in the expressions which led us to use over 60 different lighting suppliers for the decorative fixtures”, says Fanny.
The result is a magnificent office space with a stunning collection of art, which awarded SEB the title of “Sweden’s most beautiful office 2017” (Sveriges Snyggaste Kontor 2017).
