Structural surveys

Through expert structural surveys, we limit liability in your project with the help of our reliable consultants, routines and experience.

ÅF sprängkonsult is Western Sweden’s largest structural survey company. We survey land and buildings before and after vibration-causing activities such as blasting, piling, sheet piling, etc. This provides an excellent picture of the condition and status of the surrounding properties.

In a structural survey, our consultants document and report defects such as cracking, plaster peeling, subsidence and water damage. We also inspect roads, bridges, tunnels, caverns, trenches and plantings in the inspection area.

Hydrostatic pressure should be analysed and chimneys should undergo smoke pressure testing. Performing a survey both before and after more extensive excavation works is a good way of securing evidence in the event that any damage occurs, and is an effective method for determining whether damage has been caused by your activities or was pre-existing. This reduces the risk for costly and time-consuming investigations after your work is completed.

Another important aspect is that we can assist you in your contacts with third parties. We answer questions about possible consequential damages and can handle any damage claims. A well executed survey is also an excellent way to cultivate a good relationship with the people who may be affected by the excavation works. We strive to ensure that our contact creates an understanding for future disruptions such as noise, vibrations and traffic obstructions.
