Ahus

The Nye Ahus project had on behalf of the South-East Norwegian Health Authority (Helse Sør-Øst RHF) the full responsibility for planning, building and preparing the operation of the new university hospital in the Akershus Municipality.

The total budget was 8.1 Billion NOK, the gross area was 137.000 m2, and the hospital was built with 565 beds and 22 surgery rooms. The new hospital was to serve the population in Akershus Municipality and the northern part of Oslo, approximately 340.000 residents. The construction started 01.03.2004. The hospital started full clinical operation 01.10.2008, while the renovated buildings were opened in the fall of 2011.

One of the contracts related to the construction of Nye Ahus was «ICT Infrastructure». The project was composed of several suppliers in order to deliver a complete infrastructure. The infrastructure included implementation of redundant data rooms and communication rooms, including servers, network and storage, security platform, IP telephony, wireless data infrastructure, work stations, identity management, active directory, patient terminals, support processes and platforms. The project was responsible for the coordination of the ICT interface towards all the stakeholders and technical systems in the hospital. After the launch of the ICT infrastructure and services, the project was responsible for full operation and maintenance for 9 months.

Our employees were involved in the project through several roles, ranging from Project Manager for the ICT Infrastructure contract, IT architects, and Project Managers for the subprojects.
