The electrical system in a modern vehicle controls numerous critical functions and a major part of ÅF's engineering work is in development of the kind of embedded software frequently used in automobiles and trucks.
Software that executes in embedded systems for a light vehicle is often real time-critical and requires correct resource utilisation. ÅF has experts in this area and we are involved with integration of AUTOSAR products through several automotive projects.
Introduction of vehicles with electrical or hybrid propulsion as well as the development and integration of active safety systems challenges the electrical system in new ways.
For example, a new vehicle can include as many as 150 CPU’s, which direct embedded software.
