ERTMS (European Rail Traffic Management System) is a new standardised signalling system for Europe. It is intended to simplify international rail traffic and improve the railways competitive edge as a cargo carrier.
ÅF has taken part in and produced studies, risk analyses and designs involving ERTMS. We have also worked with the development of a driver simulator for ERTMS, which gives us experience and insight in the system’s man-machine-rules interfaces.
We are gearing up for the ERTMS roll-out here in Sweden with a series of internal training courses and workplace meetings.
DEKRA, formally ÅF Kontroll, has been appointed (by Swedac) as a Notified Body for ERTMS in Sweden.
