Inspection and Materials Technology at ÅF carries long tradition of working towards the Forest Industry. Our experience together with the access to our own material and water laboratories makes it possible for us to understand the whole process and to give correct advice and explanations.
There are always consultants available at ÅF that provide right experience and who can answer all kinds of questions concerning the customer’s plant. Within Inspection and Materials Technology, ÅF has an outstanding network and cooperation with leading institutions, universities and manufactures as well as several committees; in addition, we have our knowledge bank.

We use our in-house metallurgical-, water lab and workshops with various technical equipment for material testing, examination and workshop for sample preparation and experiment. Our metallurgists, mechanical engineers or water chemist are IWE certificated (International Welding Engineer). ÅF Materials Technology cooperates and works actively in industry organisations, e.g. Swedish / Norwegian recovery boiler, fiber line committee Swedish welding commission, SIS, CEN.
