Harboes Bryggeri A/S produces beer, water and malt extract to be used in e.g. bread and breakfast cereals. Together with ÅF A/S, ÅF Food and Pharma, has built a new production and distribution plant for malt extract to expand the existing production. The plant is fully automatic and consists of S7-414 PLC with distributed I/O, in total 1500. Operator interface in WinCC and WinCC flexible. Distributed I/O, communication with external process equipment and control valves are run through Profibus, while communication between PLC and WinCC are run through Ethernet. There are application programs to control the above processes, barcode scanning of containers, and report generation.
