Risk Management

Risk Management

ÅF Risk Management deals with all sorts of risks and occupational health issues that are surrounding any part of industry, organization and related projects. Assignments are found in various market segments: Chemical industry, Pulp and Paper, Infrastructure, Energy Industry, Pharmaceutical industry and Finance to name a few.

We provide services in the field production risks, product risks, facility risks, environmental risks, infrastructure risks and project risks.

For the most part, managing risks consists of the following elements:

  1. Identify, characterize, and assess risks
  2. Assess  the vulnerability of critical assets to specific risks
  3. Determine and analyze the risk (i.e. the expected consequences and probability of specific types of scenarios on specific assets)
  4. Risk evaluation (prioritize which risks need treatment and the priority for treatment implementation)
  5. Risk treatment (identify ways to reduce those risks)

Involving an ÅF Risk Manager at the initiation of a project in all industrial and environmental segments worldwide will ensure that all things are considered and solved satisfactory through the following methods:

  • Project risk (Risk workshops)
  • EHS-coordination (responsible for environment, safety and occupational health issues) in different projects and assignments
  • Qualitative methods (Hazop, What-if, PHA, FMEA)
  • Quantitative methods (Fault/Event Tree Analysis)
  • Follow-up activities
  • Training of personnel (Supporting customers in creating a safe organisation, safe systems, good leadership etc.)
  • Monitoring and review (controls/audits, lessons learned from events, changes, trends, successes and failures, identifying emerging risks)
