Description of project
The Devsari Hydro Power Project (252 MW) is located in Chamoli District in the state of Uttaranchal. It is located on the Pinder Rriver which is one of the main tributaries of Alaknanda River in Ganga basin.

The project is a run-of-river type having diurnal storage for peaking. It comprises a concrete gravity dam; a single opening intake structure; a headrace tunnel; a vertical surge shaft; a pressure shaft; three unit penstocks with manifold arrangement and an underground powerhouse to house three Francis turbines each having a capacity of 84 MW.
